ISLAMABAD, Jan 11: The interior ministry has taken serious note of delay in the development of sector D-12, and directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to complete it during the current fiscal year, a senior official of the authority told Dawn on Friday.

The CDA has allocated Rs106 million for the development of the sector, being executed jointly by the CDA and Pakistan Housing Foundation.

Sector D-12 is being developed to provide housing facility to the government employees.

The official said the authority, on the directives of the government, had reduced development charges from Rs900 per sq yard to Rs675.

The plan to establish the sector was prepared some eight years ago but due to some disputes with the local occupants of the area, it could not be materialised.

“Now, the disputes have been resolved with the involvement of army monitoring cell, set up in the CDA,” the official said, adding that “the development work is being started shortly.”

To a question, he said the plots would be sold out according to market rates on the basis of first come first served.
