LAKKI MARWAT: A man and his minor son were killed when they came under attack in Landi Mir Salam locality of Tajori here on Sunday.

Police said a relative of the deceased also sustained bullet wounds, adding Syed Rehman, his six-year-old son, Jaseemullah, brother Attaur Rehman and a relative, Nasir Gul were attacked by their rival when they were on way to their village from Bargai locality on motorbikes.

Rehman and his son Jaseemullah died on the spot while their relative, Nasir was seriously injured, they maintained, saying the killer escaped the place, while bodies and the wounded man were shifted to a hospital in Tajori town.

They said the deceased and the injured belonged to Wargari Bettanni Karkani locality of the adjoining tribal subdivision.

Complainant Attaur Rehman, who escaped the attack, told police that the attacker, Pasham Khan, was armed with AK-47 assault rifle, who suddenly appeared from bushes when they reached Landi Mir Salam locality.

He said his deceased brother had a brawl with the killer a month ago which led to occurrence of the incident.

Police said they had registered a case against the accused under section 302 and 324 of PPC and begun investigations.

Meanwhile, the police busted a gang of gamblers and arrested 15 persons during a raid in Bargai locality of Naurang on Sunday.

A police official said the action was initiated following directives by district police chief who had received information about the illegal practice. He said police found men playing bet on partridges’ fight and arrested them. The law enforcers seized an assault rifle, stake money of over Rs20,000 and game birds, he maintained, saying a case was registered against the arrested men.
