PESHAWAR, Jan 11: With the arrival of winter various localities in Cantonment area here have begun facing shortage of natural gas.

Residents of different localities have complained that the supply of natural gas remain discontinued during peak hours of the day. They said the problem had persisted for the last many years and they had been complaining about it but every year their pleas went on deaf ears of the officials concerned.

The most hard hit areas of the natural gas problem were: Khyber Super Market, Stadium Road and Gulberg. The residents claimed that in the morning the supply remained suspended. The gas supply resumes in  the afternoon, but after evening the residents once again face the problem.

They said this affected food cooking and other household works.

The SNGPL authorities claimed that there was no loadshedding of natural gas and with the advent of winter the gas supply got disrupted.
