PESHAWAR:The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) on Tuesday announced that it would hold a ‘million march’ in Dera Ismail Khan on Jan 27 as part of its anti-government campaign.

JUI-F provincial naib emir Mufti Kifayatullah told reporters at the Peshawar Press Club that an effective strategy for the million march would be made during a meeting to be held at the residence of party chief Maulana Fazl Rehman in DI Khan onDec 27.

Accompanied by JUI-F provincial information secretary Maulana Abdul Jalil Jan and leader Maulana Naseemul Haq Madani, he said the residents of the province’s southern districts would attend the event in large numbers.

Party leader claims PTI govt victimising opponents

The JUI-F leader said the ruling PTI was not capable of managing the affairs of the government as it had done nothing for the people’s welfare in its first 100 days in power instead of telling lies and doing U-turns and thus, causing unrest among the people.

He said all corrupt people had become part of the government.

Mr Kifayatullah alleged that the provincial chief minister was involved in the Malam Jabba land allotment scam.

He said uncertainty prevailed in the country due to the current ‘disappointing’ situation.

“The government has miserably failed to devise any concrete economic policy and instead, it unveiled its ‘chicken and eggs’ economic policy to overcome financial crisis and provide jobs to the people. All that has been rejected by the nation outright,” he said.

The JUI-F leader said the assassination of JUI-S chief Maulana Samiul Haq, the failure to arrest the killers of SP Tahir Dawar and the release of Christian woman facing blasphemy charge questioned the performance of the PTI government.

He alleged that different tactics were being used to support Ahmadis in the country and that the opening of Indo-Pak corridor in Kartarpur was meant to pave way for such people living in neighbouring parts of India.

Mr Kifayatullah said Prime Minister Imran Khan had talked about the possibility of the holding of mid-term elections in the country due to his inability to run the state affairs.

He said the problems of the people and country were fast increasing due to the policies of the ruling PTI, which had come to power through a ‘fake’ public mandate.

The JUI-F leader said the government had focused its attention on victimising political opponents instead of taking measures for the resolution of people’s problems.

He said the growing inflation rate and devaluation of Pakistani rupee had reached new heights and thus, causing serious economic crisis in the country.
