KARACHI: Two horses, both fillies, looks set to make their debut in the winter Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

The debutants are two-year-old thoroughbred filly Renu Devi from the studs of Syed Sibghatullah Shah Pir Pagara and filly Hi Honey, who couldn’t make her debut last week as she was scratched in the morning declaration.

Both the horses are lined up in The Long Stream Cup alongside half-a-dozen contestants. The race, which is third in the order, is also the supporting event, scale order IV and V to be run over four-and-a-half furlongs.

The next race, which is the feature event, combined scale order I, II and III, will see six horses facing the starter at the gate. It will go over five furlongs.

A small card which envisaged four races has been drawn for the second last meeting of the year. This will be followed by the prestigious Quaid-i-Azam Gold Cup which takes place on Dec 30 (Sunday).
