American rapper T-Pain's new track blocked on YouTube for plagiarising 'Tum Hi Ho'

Bollywood composer Mithoon believes the track 'That's Yo Money' lifts its melody from his Aashiqui 2 hit

Is American rapper T-Pain looking to Bollywood for inspiration?

That appears to be the case, as his new surprise track 'That's Yo Money' has been blocked on YouTube for copyright violations after similarities between the melodies of this song and Aashiqui 2 hit 'Tum Hi Ho' were pointed out.

According to Times of India, the video was blocked after tweets by the song composer Mithoon and Aashiqui 2 director Mohit Suri.

T-Pain's response to the tweets has been criticised for being racist and arrogant.

He said he woke up to being "dragged down by brown Twitter" and added that he neither produced the song nor did he know the source of the music sampled in his track and that the music label will be in touch.

Many singers here too have taken ‘Tum hi ho’ tune, made different song and put on youtube. Hopefully T-series doesnt spot those and take them down. Music should be free and for all.

Wonder what the Bolly bigwigs will say now about all the music they plagiarize from various international mediums, particularly from Pakistan.

This is irony at it's height. Almost every Indian hit song is copied originally from Pakistani singers should also be banned in India.

@Jawwad : Almost every song? If Pakistan is churning out all these hits then why are they not so popular with Pakistanis themselves who are completely besotted with Bollywood songs and use them for all their social occasions? Worth pondering!

@Jawwad As with everything else, even with music Pakistanis have an inflated view of themselves. Perhaps they need more exposure to the world.
