The Ambani wedding festivities kicked off this weekend and they were an experience.

The daughter of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani, Isha Ambani is soon to wed Anand Piramal in Udaipur and the pre-wedding events are nothing short of extravagant.

Beyonce was flown in to perform on the Sangeet held Sunday night. The American singer channeled desi vibes in a red Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla thigh-high slit gown with gotta patti which the star paired with a mathapati.

She sang some of her most iconic songs.

That's not all, among the guests was the former US First Lady and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, media giant Arianna Huffington, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal.

All of Bollywood was present for the pre-wedding bash as well, from the Khans to the Kapoors, to the newly weds Ranveer, Deepika and Nick, Priyanka.

And did you know? The Ambanis were invited to Deepika's wedding and Isha Ambani was a bridesmaid for Priyanka at her wedding.

SRK even did a dance with wife Gauri at the sangeet.

As did Aishwarya Rai with Abhishek Bachchan.

The Isha Ambani-Anand Piramal wedding will take place on Wednesday, we can only imagine how luxe that is going to be!

A total waste of resources and foreign exchange. Ambanis prosperity comes from crony capitalism and stiffing their suppliers, so yes this affects each and every Indian.

@Ankur well, we all have same functions during any wedding. And we spend according to our capacity. Ambanis are one of the richest in the world. And Piramals are too rich. So, they are doing as per their capacity. Why think negatively about it? Nothing to criticise here

@Random Indian Incorrect. He instead broke competitor’s monopoly and forced them to bring down exorbit prices and made technology affordable to common public. Affordability over profit. Because of him masses can get things cheaper.

People in the west cannot believe how some Indians spend money in their wedding. Western wedding is over in an hour. Indian wedding takes no less than couple of hours, and add to that, before and after wedding rituals. It is a week long affair.

@Random Indian I also spent a significant sum on things I like with my own money earned through legal means after paying all taxes as per law of this nation. Explain to me how my spending is a waste of resources.
