TAXILA: A suspected robber was shot dead during a botched up robbery near Motorway Bridge at Thatta Khalil in the limits of the Taxila police early on Sunday.

Adalat Elahi reported to the police that he and three other persons were going towards the motorway in a dumper when four armed men tried to snatch cash and the vehicle from them.

He said as he put up resistance, the armed men opened fire and bullets hit him in the wrist and leg. When the occupants of the dumper also opened fire, a bullet hit one of the robbers in the chest killing him on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Dilwar Khursheed. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
