FILMS are like a mirror that can be held up to society. Sometimes it depicts fantasy/fiction and sometimes they make us face reality. A great example of this is a Baloch film Karesth which loosely refers to an individual’s actions.
The film revolves around Hafeez Lal who plays Ustaad Peero, a drug addict, in the film. Despite his addiction, Lal’s character is a jack of all trades.
His decline into drugs and the world of addiction is shown by focusing on his relationships with his children — the eldest of whom is a 17-year-old boy who is forced to work in a restaurant to put bread on the table for the family as his father is always high.
I think Lal and the rest of the cast have done a good job and would like to tell everyone to see this movie. As someone who has lost a loved one to drugs, I cannot emphasis on how important this film is. The lesson here is: stay away from drugs.
