ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) pinning high hope on federal minister for Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC) Dr Fehmida Mirza for resolving their issues, as in ongoing fiscal year, the federation was not granted any sort of funding by the Pakistan Sports Board.
Whereas, the PBSA also sought minister’s help to resolve several core issues such as cash awards to medal winners and the proposed medal tally sheet prepared by it a couple of years ago. However the matter is pending with the PSB, establishment of the snooker academies, annual and special grants, NOC matters and the upcoming national junior and master’s championships.
PBSA president Munawwar Hussain Shaikh and co-chairman Alamgir A. Shaikh on Thursday held a meeting with the minister here. While, the meeting was also attended by the Director General-PSB.
During the meeting, the PBSA officials informed the ministers about the achievements and challenges being faced by the federation. The president and the co-chairman — PBSA briefed the minister about the issues of federation and according to federation, the meeting remained successful.
According to a PBSA statement on Friday, the minister informed that the proposed annual medal tally sheet proposed by the PBSA was already under consideration and the cash awards to the medal winners would.
