I DID my post-graduate diploma in Teaching of English as Foreign Language (PGD TEFL) from Allama Iqbal Open University and was issued my degree and transcript on one leaf. The degree is on the front and the transcript is on the reverse.
A few days later I visited the Higher Education Commission office in Islamabad to have the transcript attested to, but HEC officials refused to do so stating that this was a degree and not a transcript. Thereafter, I approached AIOU University which told me that this was both a degree and the transcript. When I explained to them that the HEC did not consider it a transcript, he brusquely said “it is not our problem.” I returned to HEC and narrated to them what the AIOU official had told me. They remained adamant stating that it was a degree and not a transcript. My online application for attestation is still in the record of HEC website.
I am in a quandary as I need the transcript to be attested to, as I have to submit these documents in a foreign country. I appeal to the HEC and AIOU higher authorities to resolve this issue.
