ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Monday appointed two senior officers at the Inland Revenue Service (IRS).

Ms Seem Shakil has been appointed as the new member IRS Operations. The position is one of the most important at the FBR as it overlooks around 90 per cent of the total collections of the FBR. Earlier, she had been working as the DG — Special Initiative FBR.

The position had fallen vacant following the transfer of members to other divisions last week.

On the other hand, Dr Hamid Ateeq Sarwar was posted as member Inland Revenue — Policy, the second most important slot at the IRS. He was posted as member Taxpayers Education and Facilitation.

Feedback form

In an effort to improve export facilitation schemes — DTRU, EOU, Manufacturing Bond, Temporary Importation and Duty Drawback — the FBR has issued a feedback form for exporters.

The form is part of the board’s strategy to ensure provision of maximum facilities to the exporters in a bid to make country’s exports competitive. The feedback form has been dispatched to all exporters and business associations.

The form is also available online on the FBR website.

According to an official announcement, all exporters have been requested to fill the feedback from and forward it to the tax authority.

In the form, exporters have been asked to provide their views on the procedures and difficulties in utilising existing exports facilitation schemes.

Moreover, they have been requested to give suggestions to improve the efficacy of the process to help exporters.
