LAHORE: Ahmed Baig won the first Chairman Wapda Golf Championship after leading the board on all the three days at the Defence Raya Golf course here on Sunday.

Ahmad made a three-day aggregate 215 after a final-round 73 with Ghazanfar Mahmood failing to erase a two-stroke deficit as he also posted a 73 for a 217 to finish second. Zunair Aleem Khan shot a stunning 70 to take third place on 219.

Hafiz Awais’ 207 was the best net score. He finished ahead of Ahmed Jabran (209) and Ali Naeem (215).

Ladies champion was Parkha Ijaz with a 151, ahead of Humna Amjad (157) and Ghazala Yasmin (162). Net winner in ladies was Suneyah Osama (136) ahead of Mina Zainab (143) and Zaibunnisa (144).
