KARACHI, Jan 11: Seven ships carrying general cargo, tallow and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berth occupancy at the oil piers was maintained at 100 per cent for the second day in a row, while on the dry berths it fell to 55 per cent from the previous 64 per cent as the number of ships which got berths were lower.

Four ships, MSC Lucy, Bunga Mastiga and X-Press Dhaulagiri to unload and load containers, and A.A. Venture to load rice were berthed after the sailing of five.

The ships, which departed included MSC Aurora, Swat, Khalid Ibn Waleed, Leixoes and Bunga Mastiga, while Wind Song, MMSC Lucy and Sinar Bangka are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow as the total tonnage fell to 35,352 tons comprising 15,147 tons of export cargo including 722 tons of rice and 20,205 tons of imported goods.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Andhika Adhidaya, with tallow, Johar, and Pinta with oils, Jamila, PONL Everst, and Hyundai Future with containers, and Sibi with general cargo.
