DERA MURAD JAMALI: Police on Monday seized a large quantity of arms and explosives from the Chatter area of Nasirabad district.

District Police Officer Irfan Bashir told reporters that a police team, headed by DSP Ghulam Haider, conducted a raid in Baghtar area of Chatter tehsil where the police found a consignment of landmines, mortal shells and improvised explosive devices and other weapons.

However, no arrest was reported.

Meanwhile, in the Mir Hassan area of Nasirabad district, 20-year-old Abdul Rasheed allegedly shot himself dead with a pistol. The incident took place in Goth Ghulam Rasool.

The cause of the suicide could not immediately be known.
