LAHORE: Police on Sunday foiled a theft bid in the branch of the private bank in Sattukatla and recovered cash and valuables worth millions from the suspects, including the bank guard.

The Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unite (PRU) teams received a call from a passer-by that some people were busy looting a private bank.

The police teams rushed to the spot and cordoned off the building. They arrested five suspects, including the security guard of the bank, and recovered Rs90m and 15kg gold ornaments from the custody of the suspects.

The suspects were identified as Mazhar, Syed Muhammad, Ahmed Shah, Kamal Hussain and security guard Sadaqat Hussain.

The Dolphin Squad and PRU teams handed over the suspects to Sattukatla police and registered a case against them. Dolphin Squad Superintendent of Police (SP) Bilal Zaffar said the bank guard was involved in facilitating the robbers.
