Economic terrorism

APROPOS the news item ‘Panel needed to probe ‘economic terrorism’: minister’ (Nov 15). Pakistan has become a country where billions of rupees randomly show up in bank accounts of poor men but the country itself is engulfed in an economic crisis.

Nearly 5,000 fake banks accounts have been identified by the government which were used as bridge to move Pakistan’s money abroad.

On Wednesday, the information minister announced that they would form a parliamentary panel to probe these issues. If the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government really wants to set Pakistan free from the economic crisis then a crackdown on money laundering would be a good place to start.
