NAWABSHAH: Excise police on Saturday found 44 kilogrammes heroin hidden in secret compartments of a truck during a search of vehicles near Sakrand on the National Highway.
The truck was smuggling the drug to Karachi from Peshawar. Police arrested the driver and impounded the truck.
Shaheed Benazirabad excise and taxation officer Abdul Waheed Thaheem told journalists that market value of the seized heroin was more than Rs1 billion.
