Violent society

THERE are issues that usually can be resolved just by dialogue anywhere else. But in Pakistan, our first instinct regarding any issue is to become barbaric and after some serious damage, we turn to dialogue.

And because we are a frustrated nation, this frustration gets the very best of us by transforming us into maniacal beasts. We don’t think before acting and this flaw leaves us to play in the hands of those who wish to damage the integrity of our country. The recent riots are very proof of our berserk nature.

We don’t follow teachings of Islam to its core and yet we become saviours of this peace and love-spreading religion by becoming unnecessarily brutal and fierce. Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) never got angry and was never harsh to those who maligned him, stoned him or even hurled garbage at him.

Today, if we Muslims are to survive, we really need to follow the real teachings of Islam and life of our Prophet for this is the only way to our salvation or else we are destined to doom.
