KARACHI: Karachi Basketball Club beat Usman Club 52-46 in the opening match of the 3rd Essa Lab Basketball Tournament here at Arambagh courts on Sunday.

In the gripping contest, the players who contributed handsomely for the winners included Raj Kumar Lakhwani (15 points), Wajeeh Ahmed (10 points), Talal Ahmed (10 points) and Asad Imam (8 points).

For the losing side, Haris Khan (10 points), Nofil Ahmed (8 points) and Usman Khawaja (8 points) were the main scorers.

Earlier, MPA Imran Ali Shah inaugurated the tournament in presence of KBBA officials and Dr Farhan Essa. Imran announced on the occasion to construct two international standard basketball courts in Nazimabad where top level tournaments could be played.
