DELHI: ‘MORNING NEWS writes:- We offer our sincere felicitations to our Delhi contemporary on its entry into the second year of its existence. That it had supplied a long-felt want goes without saying. The Muslim case in India is a good and sound one and capable of acceptance by any unprejudiced critic from any quarter. It has gone by default all these years because Muslims as a people, not only in India but almost in all parts of the world had, till recently, not given that much importance to publicity and advocacy of their views and grievances, which others had done.

‘Tanin’, the organ of the Party by Union and Progress and edited by Huseyn Jahid Bey, now known as ‘Yalchin”, came into prominence after the Revolution of 1908. ‘Al-Ihram’ and ‘Al-Muqattam’, the two leading dailies of Cairo, are Christian owned and served Lord Cromer’s policies in Egypt until Mustafa Pasha Kamil and Shaikh Abdul Aziz Shaweesh came out with their ‘Al-Liwa’. In India despite the pioneering work done by Sir Syed Ahmed in Urdu and the Lahore group, the Muslims did not possess daily organs till half a dozen years ago. Sir Nazimuddin spent almost a fortune to start and keep going our sprightly evening contemporary the ‘Star of India’.
