PESHAWAR: The provincial leaders of PPP said here on Thursday that Karsaz bombing was a conspiracy hatched by undemocratic forces and religious extremists.

Addressing a ceremony on the anniversary of Karsaz tragedy, PPP provincial president Humayun Khan, Rahimdad Khan, Syed Ayub Shah and others paid rich tributes to the victims of the attack.

They said that hundreds of people were killed when the reception rally of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was attacked on October 18, 2007 at Karsaz.

They said that the gory incident was meant to suppress the voice of people and discourage the PPP workers.

The PPP leaders said that Benazir Bhutto had devoted her life to welfare of the people, development of the country and strengthening of democratic institutions but the extremists eliminated her.

They vowed to fulfil the mission of their slain party chief and continue making efforts for welfare of the poor people and strengthening of democracy in the country.

They said that PPP had roots among people in KP. They said that they were ready to take all possible steps against the discriminatory policies of the government.
