LAHORE: Programme Monitoring and Implementation Unit (PMIU) on Wednesday directed all deputy commissioners and chief executive officers of district education authorities in the province to conduct Annual School Census 2018 through the School Information System (SIS).

Presently, the school census is being conducted every year on Oct 31 through printed forms, but the authorities decided to switch over from manual data collection to digitised mode through the SIS this year.

As per the PMIU of Punjab Education Sector Reform Programme directions the data collection through SIS would be conducted simultaneously across the province.

The “School Census Day” will be observed on Oct 31 and all public schools, including Masjid Maktab, primary, elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools will be required to log into the SIS application through their tablets after teaching hours and submit updated data of their respective institutions.

The PMIU also directed that all the district education officials (DEOs) and their assistants (AEOs) to personally visit the schools and ensure successful completion of the activity.

All school heads are required to submit the latest and accurate census data to all SIS input fields (students, teachers and staff records and school facilities data etc.) by Oct 31. The submission of census form will be locked after this date.

The submitted census form of primary and elementary schools will be visible to AEOs in the relevant app of the SIS and these officials will validate the data and submit certificate of validation through the AEO app.

The CEOs will furnish a certificate in writing to the effect that SIS data of all schools under their jurisdiction has been correctly and completely updated on Oct 31 and the census forms have been submitted and validated electronically by the concerned head teachers and AEOs.

The census of PSSP/PEIMA schools will be conducted through printed forms (manually) as these schools did not have tablets.

ICAP RESULTS: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) on Wednesday announced the results of Assessment of Fundamental Competencies (AFC) Examination and Writing Skills Test (PCSC-1).

As many as 694 candidates passed the AFC and 162 have been declared successful in Writing Skills Test, whereas 379 have obtained permanent credits in AFC.

ICAP has also awarded Merit Certificates for outstanding performances in AFC examination in the following subjects: Functional English to Aamir Khan, Business Communication to Javeria Anis, Quantitative Methods to Muhammad Annus, Introduction to Information Technology to Muhammad Yahya and Ahmed.
