NAROWAL: Unknown attacker(s) on Saturday night shot a woman and her two minor sons dead while they were asleep in their house at Moga village of Zafarwal tesil.

According to Zafarwal police, Fouzia Bibi, wife of a retired army officer, Muhammad Aslam, and her sons Shahzad (10) and Ali Raza (6) were asleep in their house when unidentified killer(s) shot them in their heads. The mother and sons died on the spot.

The killer(s) fled the scene after committing the crime.

The police said Mr Aslam was in Karachi for the last 10 days where he had a job.

On being informed of the incident by neighbours, the police arrived at the crime scene and collected evidence, including fingerprints.

The police first shifted the bodies to Zafarwal Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for the postmortem examination but later those were removed to the district headquarters hospital.

No FIR has so far been lodged.

District Police Officer Kashif Aslam said investigation into the triple murder was on.

He said police were trying to determine the motive of the crime and would soon trace the killer(s).
