QUETTA: The German Consul General to Karachi, Eugen Wolfarth, met Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Wednesday and discussed investment opportunities in Balochistan.

Mr Alyani informed Mr Wolfarth about the area of cooperation and investment opportunities in the province and informed him that the province was rich in mineral resources which needed exploration.

“Balochistan is blessed with vast reservoirs of natural resources, having numerous opportunities for mineral industries and, therefore, we need assistance on technical level from our friendly countries,” Mr Alyani said, adding that fisheries and livestock sectors also had great potential for investment.

The chief minister also informed the German diplomat about Mehargarh civilisation and said that the province needed help from foreign archaeological experts to preserve its historical heritage.

He said the provincial government would set up a modern museum in Quetta to preserve historical sites for future generation.

Mr Alyani stressed the need for providing vocational training to the Balochistan youth, adding that Germany was in a position to help the provincial government in that sphere.

The chief minister said that law and order had improved to a great extent in the province.
