THE metropolis unfortunately is already devoid of adequate public recreation facilities and is being robbed even now of the few existing ones that remain. Recently, a public park established in Block 7 Clifton for the residents of Bath Island has been devoured on the excuse of privacy and security.
The thoroughfare leading to the park passes between some bungalows whose owners have not only closed the road leading to the park by raising a hedged wall but also carried out illegal construction on the park plot. The residents have repeatedly approached the owners for the removal of the wall but failed to evoke any response.
The anti-encroachment committee appointed by the provincial government and the city government authorities are requested to take legal action against these encroachers.
