These celeb tweets explain why sexual assault goes unreported

After Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was accused of sexual misconduct by former classmate Dr Christine Blasey Ford earlier this month, US President Donald Trump downplayed the charge against the judge by demanding to see the report that was filed to the authorities after the alleged assault occurred.

He claimed that if the assault was as serious as she claims it to be, it must have been reported.

Many people came forward to correct his gross assumption with the hashtag #WhyIDidntReport, starting with Hollywood actors and #MeToo campaigners Alyssa Milano and Ashley Judd:
