QUETTA: Two death-row prisoners died of heart attack in Central Jail Machh and Civil Hospital Quetta on Thursday.

Machh Central Jail officials said that condemned prisoner Faizullah had a heart attack in the morning and even though jail authorities provided him with medical treatment he could not survive.

Another death-row prisoner Muhammad Zaman also died due to heart attack, according to the jail officials. They said he was brought to Civil Hospital Quetta a few days ago when he had a heart attack while in prison. Zaman, however, had another heart attack at the hospital which led to his death on Thursday morning, they said. Zaman had been awarded death sentence in a murder case.

“Their black warrants had not been issued so far,” officials said. A black or death warrant is a legal document that allows authorities concerned to carry out a death sentence of a prisoner.
