KASUR: Five labourers were killed while 10 suffered critical injuries as a truck loaded with maize overturned on Tuesday at Taragar village, some 20 kilometers from here, in Ganda Singh police precincts.

According to police, driver Muhammad Nadeem lost control over the Kasur-bound truck as a result it overturned near Taragar. As many as 14 labourers were sitting on the rooftop of the truck. Five of them, including driver Nadeem, 27, Shahbaz, 25, Juge Masih, 30, Sajad, 30, and Karamat, 34, were run over and killed. The injured include Waqas, 27, Mushtaq, 26, Ramzan, 44, Mustafa, 30, Amir, 20, Nawaz, 25, Adnan, 22, Javid, 35, Rehmat, 42, and Saleem, 35.

Rescue 1122 rushed the injured to DHQ Hospital from where Waqas, Ramzan and Amir were referred to Lahore General Hospital due to their critical condition.

Police have shifted the bodies to DHQ hospital for autopsy.

SUICIDE: A youth committed suicide over some domestic issue here on Tuesday at Shah Inayat Colony in the limits of A-Division police station.

Police said Ali Hamad shot himself in the temple with a pistol at his home over some domestic issue.
