PESHAWAR: Employees of the Fata Disaster Management Authority, including its director general, on Tuesday announced that they would donate their salary to the Prime Minister’s Dam Fund.

A statement issued here on Tuesday said DG Mehmood Aslam Wazir and other employees had decided to give donation to the dam fund. The DG and the authority’s director would donate an amount equal to three days of their salaries, while other employees would donate one-day salary.

The statement said construction of dams was national obligation and FDMA employees would give donations for the national cause.

The statement said the country was facing acute water shortage and there was no way out but to construct dams.
