KARACHI: The 20th death anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah will be observed throughout the country today [Sept 11] in a spirit of reverence and solemnity.

The national flag will fly at half-mast and all Government and private institutions will remain closed. The day will be marked by Quran Khwani and Fateha at the Mazar of the Father of the Nation in Karachi, meetings and seminars and other functions to highlight the personality and achievements of the Quaid-i-Azam...

Newspapers all over the country are bringing out special supplements, and special program­mes highlighting the achievements of the Quaid-i-Azam will be presented by all stations of the Pak­istan Television Corporation and Radio Pakistan.

Included in the special TV programmes are a 20-minute documentary, a lecture by Mr G. Allana and a group discussion in which Mr Husain Imam, Dr I.H. Qureshi and Mr Mumtaz Hasan will participate. The Radio programme includes relay of the Quran Khwani directly from the Quaid’s mazar at 8-15 a.m. and excerpts from Quaid’s speeches. — Correspondent
