KARACHI: A man was shot dead in the SITE area on Monday, according to police.

They added that Nisar Khan, 40, was on his way to a private company where he worked when two unknown suspects attacked him near Bawani Chali in Metroville.

He sustained critical bullet wounds and died. The victim had previously worked as a contractor for a factory and later on shifted to his native place in Mansehra. He had recently returned to Karachi.

The police suspected personal enmity behind the murder.

Charity school looted

A charity school established for street children in the basement of a building in Defence Housing Authority was looted, police said on Monday.

They added that unknown suspects took away valuables from the school, which was popularly known as footpath school, during the weekend.

Darakhshan SHO Haji Sanaullah told Dawn that the school principal on Monday morning informed the police that they had closed the school, located in the Badar Commercial Area, on Friday but when they returned to the school on Monday morning after the weekend, they found the lock of the main door broken and goods missing.

The SHO quoting the principal said one laptop and uniforms of the street children were missing.

He added that another woman from the same school informed them that her computer and other items were also stolen. “So far, the school administration has not lodged an FIR and no one has reported stealing of cash,” he concluded.
