Zarlish to lead Karachi softball team in NSA event

KARACHI: Zarlish Shakeel will lead the Karachi softball team in the NSA Defence Day Softball Championship which commenced in Sukkur on Saturday.

The team departed for Sukkur late on Friday. The other players include Bushra Javed, Mursaleen, Aisha Ishtiaq, Aleeza Khan, Muskan Shaukat, Reema Ashraf, Manahil Afzal, Mukan Hashmi, Doha Komal, Mehreen, Rachel and Souzanne.

Naheed Liaquat is the team’s manager while Faraz Ejaz is the head coach.

Meanwhile, Chairperson National Softball Academy (NSA) Tehmina Asif has said that NSA circuit has been extended upto Sukkur and Khairpur to unearth new talent in the sport and a specialised training and coaching course has been planned for all the participating girls in the Defence Day event.

She added that in the next stage, the NSA circuit will be extended to Lahore and Quetta as well.
