KARACHI: A sessions court on Friday dismissed bail applications filed by seven detained officials of K-Electric in a case pertaining to falling of live electric wires on an eight-year-old boy, whose both arms had to be amputated to save his life.

Several officials of the power utility, including seven of them on judicial remand, have been booked for their alleged negligence that led to falling of the live electric wire on Mohammad Umar on Aug 25 in Gadap.

A case was registered on the complaint of the boy’s father at the SITE Superhighway Industrial police station.

The seven undertrial officials — Saeed Ahmed (deputy manager), Syed Mohammad Asim (assistant engineer), Asif Iqbal (assistant engineer), Saqib Husain, Syed Haider Raza, Mirza Asif Baig (supervisor) and Mohammad Mushtaq — moved bail applications.
