LAHORE: An alleged robber was reportedly shot dead in firing by his accomplice during street crime in Sundar area, the police claimed on Thursday.

The Saddar Division SP claimed that two armed men held up three citizens Maqbool, Shahzad and Arshad in the street who were carrying some mobile phones. One of the citizens overpowered a robber.

On this, he said, the other suspect opened fire to get his accomplice released. Three bullets hit his accomplice, leaving him injured critically.

The shooter fled, the SP said adding that the injured was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

He said a case has been registered against the shooter.
