FIFA President Gianni Infantino has accepted the invitation of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat to visit Pakistan, according to the federation officials.

The PFF president had extended the invitation to Infantino — the head of the global football governing body and one of the most powerful men in sports — during their meeting at the FIFA Headquarters in Zurich on Tuesday.

Infantino, during the meeting, had highlighted Pakistan's "huge population and tremendous potential" for the growth of football, and assured the federation of FIFA's assistance.

The two presidents discussed the FIFA Forward Program and its implementation in Pakistan, with Hayat later explaining: "The core feature of the FIFA Forward Programme is to provide tailor-made solutions to member associations and help fuel their football development."

The unfinished Goal projects also came under discussion during the summit, with Infantino agreeing to resume work on Sukkur, Jacobabad and Khanewal projects.

“PFF is seriously concerned about Goal projects in Pakistan," Hayat said. "The FIFA president has addressed our concerns in this regard."

While Infantino accepted Hayat's invitation to visit Pakistan, a date for his planned visit has not been disclosed yet.
