KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi announced the results of the annual Part-II Arts regular examinations for special candidates, Home Economics examinations and diploma in Physical Education on Tuesday.

In the Arts regular exams for special candidates, 70 registered while 68 app­eared out of whom 65 passed bringing up a 95.59pc result. Sharif Khan Mandokhail of Deva Higher Secondary School bagged the A-1 grade with 964 marks out of a total of 1,100.

The second position went to Shiza Binte Shaukat of ABSA Higher Secondary School for Deaf who got 961 marks while the third position went to Mustafa Ali Akbar also of Deva Higher Secondary School. He got 948 marks.

Some 281 registered for the Home Economics exam while 279 appeared for the exams; 185 passed to bring up a 66.31pc result. In the Home Economics group, all the three top positions were shared by four students from the same college — Ra’ana Liaquat Ali Khan Government College of Home Economics. Ayesha Anwer got 1,052 marks out of a total of 1,200 to stand first. Meanwhile, Isra Haq Nawaz and Maham Lakhani both shared the second position by getting 1,017 marks each and Tooba Rahman was third with 1,012 marks.

In diploma in Physical Education, of the 22 who registered to take the exam only 11 passed to bring the result to 50pc.
