Corps Commanders Conference held to discuss evolving geo-strategic environment

Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa chaired a Corps Commanders' Conference in Rawalpindi on Tuesday to discuss the evolving geo-strategic environment and progress on Operation Raddul Fasaad.
Defence Day preparations were also discussed during the meeting, and the army chief directed that field formations should reach out to the families of martyrs in their areas to pay their respects.
Defence Day is observed on Sept 6 to commemorate the sacrifices of soldiers who lost their lives in the 1965 war.

No DAWN News, Defence Day is not "observed" to "commemorate" the scarifices of soldiers who lost thier lives in 1965 war but celebrate thier bravery against a larger adversary. Theres a world of difference and a Pakistani media is supposed to know it.
