LAHORE: PPP Federal Council member Munawwar Anjum has demanded setting up of a parliamentary committee to investigate rigging and failure of the RTS (result transfer system).

In a statement on Sunday, he demanded that the government immediately form a parliamentary committee for probing polling-day rigging, particularly the presiding officers’ failure to issue Form-45 duly signed as per law by polling agents of various contesting candidates in each constituency.

He said Form-45 of all polling stations should be sent through forensic audit and then uploaded on the Election Commission’s web site.

He also said that as the authorities had blamed failure of the RTS in timely transmission of election results the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) denied the allegation and demanded forensic audit of the system.
