KARACHI: Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani on Saturday said all possible action was being taken against the K-Electric management that caused handicapping of a boy.

“K-Electric management should rectify its system across the metropolis forthwith,” said Mr Ghani while visiting burns ward of the Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi.

The LG minister said the provincial government would help the affected boy named Umer with all possible assistance. Besides, another child, Haris, would also be helped similarly.

Mr Ghani said providing all facilities in the burns ward was the responsibility of the Sindh government, which “we will fulfil with all humanly possible effort”.

During his visit to the Ruth Pfau-CHK burns ward, the minister inquired after the health of the child from the staff taking care of him.

Mr Ghani said all possible action was being taken against the privately-run power utility for the irreparable loss to the boy and sufferings being endured by his family.

He, however, said the provincial government had taken it upon itself to provide complete treatment facilities to the child.

He said one more boy named Haris, a victim of another incident, was under treatment in the burns ward.

“The hospital staff is taking care of Haris as well. I have asked the doctors and paramedics not to show negligence in their work while serving humanity, children in particular,” said the minister.

“The provincial minister assured Umer’s family that the government would also provide legal assistance to the family,” said an official in a statement.
