LAHORE: A model was found dead in the bedroom of her house under mysterious circumstances here on Saturday.

Identified as Anum Naveed, the deceased was a resident of Defence Phase IV and a mother of two minor daughters.

Quoting Anum’s husband Naveed, the Defence B station house officer (SHO) said she had been suffering from depression and hypertension for the last couple of months.

He further told police he had got an appointment with a doctor for his wife on Saturday on suspicion that her condition was deteriorating. However, she locked herself in her room and hanged herself with her dupatta, the SHO quoted Naveed as saying, adding that he immediately rushed her to a local hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead.

Initial inquiries said Anum might have ended her life over issues that were yet to be determined, the SHO claimed. However, he added the police were investigating the matter with the assistance of Punjab Forensic Science Agency experts.
