ISLAMABAD: The government will ensure the promotion of education, uniformity in curriculums and the provision of modern education facilities to youth in the area of science and technology, Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday.

He said the government will also provide the maximum facilities to universities for the promotion of the higher education sector in the country.

The premier held a meeting with former federal minister and former Higher Education Commission chairman Dr Attaur Rehman. Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood, HEC Chairman Dr Tariq Banori, Prof Mohammad Mujahid and Rashid Khan were also present.

According to a press release, Dr Rehman presented proposals to the prime minister for the promotion of the higher education sector in the country, focusing on science and technology.

It says the issue of converting Prime Minister House into a modern research centre was also discussed.

The statement quotes the premier as saying that the government will make full use of the proposals of the education experts for the promotion of higher education in the country.
