PESHAWAR: Samar Bilour, the widow of Haroon Ahmed Bilour, on Wednesday submitted her nomination papers to contest the by-election on PK-78.

The election on PK-78 was postponed when her spouse and ANP candidate Haroon Ahmed Bilour was assassinated along with 22 other party workers in a suicide attack days before the general elections.

Danial Bilour submitted nomination papers on behalf of her mother in the regional office of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Talking to mediapersons after filing the nomination paper of his mother, Danial Bilour said that his mother had the support of all the opposition parties in the upcoming by-elections to be held on Oct 14.

However, he said that the PTI leadership had not yet contacted them whether or not it would field its candidate in the constituency.

The last date of the nomination papers is Thursday (today) while scrutiny of papers will take place on Sept 4. Candidates can withdraw nomination papers by Sept 15.
