TIMERGARA: Two friends ended their lives by swallowing poisonous pills in Ghaligay and Darra Ramora areas in the jurisdiction of Chakdara police station here on Monday, residents and police said.

They said Wahid Khan, 17, consumed poisonous pills at Ghaligay village whose condition deteriorated.

On getting information about his friend, another youth identified as Adeel, 16, a resident of Darra Ramora, also took poisonous pills. Both the victims were taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Chakdara, where they died.

A third friend also tried to end his life but relatives and neighbours tied him to a tree, residents said. The police registered a case and started investigation.

Also, a man identified as Rahatullah, a resident of Ado village of Khall, was shot dead on Timergara bypass road by unknown attackers.

An official of Timergara police station said the victim was waiting for a vehicle along with his wife after returning from hospital when the attackers opened fire on him. The assailants escaped the scene.

The police registered a case against Subhanullah and Nasir on the report of the victim’s relatives and started investigations.
