PESHAWAR: Eidul Azha was celebrated peacefully with religious zeal and fervour in Peshawar.

It was observed that the personnel of law enforcement agencies remained alert to avert any untoward incident. In some areas, it was learnt that police continued body search of people at the entry of main mosques to ensure protection of the faithful.

Eidul Azha was celebrated on Wednesday by all the local people except Afghanis who had celebrated it on Tuesday and also offered sacrifice of their animals. In Peshawar, the main congregation was held in Eidgah, Charsadda Road, under tight security.

However, the people who were in the habit to buy sacrificial animals on the Eid day faced problems in searching animals of their choice.

Huge rush of people was observed at Shahi Bagh where some recreational events were also arranged on the occasion of Eid.
