IMRAN Ismail, who has been named new Sindh governor, made a genuine demand for demolition of a wall outside Bilawal House, occupying a road in Clifton, Karachi.

This has been a big nuisance for the residents of Karachi as it blocks the approach to their residences and frequently visited places on the other side. Most surprising was the reaction of Nasir Shah, a PPP MPA in the Sind Assembly.

He said that Imran Ismail was going to be the governor and not governor-general. A governor-general was a representative of the British crown. Nasir Shah would only obey the orders of British rulers rather than the law of the land.

Why do they need to occupy a portion of public property? Why can’t they build one, two or even more security walls within the legally allotted plot of land on which Bilawal House has been constructed?

I suggest the same for the US consulate in Karachi. They should build one, two or more security walls around the consulate, instead of occupying footpath and a portion of Mai Kolachi Road.
