GUJRANWALA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Wednesday registered cases against a naib tehsildar, gardawar and patwari for preparing fake land transfer documents, and an assistant sub inspector (ASI) on charges of corruption.

ACE Director Fareed Ahmad told reporters that Asghar Ali had submitted an application alleging that Muhammad Ashraf along with Naib Tehsildar Ansar Mehmood, Gardawar Muhammad Afzal and Patwari Tahir Mehmood prepared fake documents and tried to obtain his piece of land. The suspects were found guilty during an inquiry.

In another incident, ASI Shageer Ahmad took Rs20,000 as bribe from Muhammad Rasheed to write a report in his favour. The ASI was also found guilty and cases were registered against all of them.

GANG ARRRESTED: The Crimes Investigation Agency (CIA) on Wednesday arrested a gang of thieves and recovered eight looted motorcycles from their possession and registered cases against them.

According to CIA Deputy Superintendent of Police Imram Abass, they arrested Aasif alias Aasoo and Waseem from their hideout. During investigation, the suspects confessed that they looted motorcycles from parking stands and streets.

Police recovered eight motorcycles and registered cases against those arrested.
