LAHORE: The police finalised its security plan for Independence Day and deployed 10,000 personnel in the city.

City police will also perform duties to cover nearly 900 ceremonies besides providing security to VIP and VVIP personalities.

The ceremonies have been categorised as A, B and C keeping in view the nature of the event, further deputing Elite Force, Police Response Unit and Dolphin Squad among others. In addition, patrolling police have also been directed to remain vigilant on Tuesday (today) to provide security to families on roads, in markets and parks from hooligans.
