A SIZEABLE number of sacrificial animals may be the carriers of various bacteria that cause various infectious diseases. The most deadly among these is the Congo virus.
Once a human being is infected by the Congo virus, it often proves fatal as the chances of an infected person being cured are extremely remote.
This disease is highly contagious as the infection spreads to other people who come in contact with a patient’s blood or body fluids. The virus can also spread through hospitals where an infected patient is treated. Hence extremely stringent quarantine rules are enforced.
All provinces and district administrations should take measures to control the Congo virus. These measures should be enforced for at least 30 days even after Eidul Azha.
