LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) sought on Thursday the details of assets of Human Organ Transplant Authority (HOTA) administrator and retired vice-chancellor of the King Edward Medical University Prof Dr Faisal Masood.

Prof Masood appeared before a NAB team and remained with them for a couple of hours in the provincial headquarter of the bureau in Lahore.

NAB initiated a probe into a hefty salary package and perks and privileges Prof Masood is drawing as the head of the Punjab HOTA. The NAB team questioned Prof Masood about his assets he has made since he assumed administrative positions in public health institutions in Punjab during the tenure of the PML-N government.

An official said NAB officials asked Prof Masood about the details of his bank accounts, national identity cards of his family members, his qualifications and job details.

He was also questioned about the salary packages he was offered besides other details pertaining to his financial transactions.

The team also asked him about the authority which had recommended him for HOTA director general/administrator post and the salary package.

The Punjab government appointed Prof Masood the PHOTA administrator/director general in April 2017. NAB directed him to appear before the investigating officers on Thursday with a notification.
